The Anambra State Special Anti-Touting Squad Agency (SASA) has arrested a 42-year-old man, Sunday Nomen, over alleged child trafficking.
The suspect, from Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, was apprehended in Nkpor following an intelligence-led operation. According to SASA spokesperson, Karen James, operatives posed as buyers before arresting him.
Two children, aged between three and eight, were rescued during the operation. The suspect reportedly confessed to buying them for ₦3.5 million and bringing them to Onitsha to meet an accomplice.
Authorities say the suspect will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department as investigations continue.
