Al Hilal, Saudi Women’s Premier League club have completed the signing of Super Falcons striker Asisat Oshoala. On a two-year contract, strengthening their squad with one of Africa’s most decorated footballers.
The Nigerian forward made the switch from the National Women’s Soccer League side Bay FC. Ending her spell in the United States after one-and-a-half years. Oshoala completed medicals in Riyadh on Monday before the club officially presented her on Tuesday through posts across their social media platforms. “Welcome Asisat Oshoala. Countless achievements, and more to come,” Al Hilal announced while unveiling their latest addition.
The move also sees Oshoala reunite with her international teammates Ashleigh Plumptre and Francisca Ordega, who already ply their trade in Saudi Arabia. Al Hilal, who secured sixth place in the expanded 2024/25 campaign. Will look to the Super Falcons star to sharpen their attacking options and push for better results next season.
Bay FC confirmed her departure with a farewell message: “Bay FC and Saudi Arabia club Al Hilal have agreed to terms on a transfer for Asisat Oshoala. Thank you for everything you’ve given to this club.”
Oshoala joined Bay FC last season, starting 23 of 25 matches, scoring seven goals, and registering one assist. However, she struggled for game time this year, managing only five starts in 12 appearances without a goal contribution.
Before her NWSL adventure, the 29-year-old enjoyed a glittering five-year spell with Barcelona. Where she netted 107 goals in 149 matches, lifting five Liga F titles and two UEFA Women’s Champions League trophies. Her career also includes stints with Arsenal, Liverpool, and Chinese side Dalian Quanjian after beginning at Nigerian clubs FC Robo and Rivers Angels.
A six-time African Women’s Player of the Year and two-time Ballon d’Or nominee. Oshoala remains a key figure in Nigerian football. With Al Hilal, she now begins a fresh chapter in her remarkable career.
