A group within the All Progressives Congress in Adamawa State has warned President Bola Tinubu that internal party disputes could cost the APC victory in the state during the 2027 general election.
The group, known as the Central Senatorial Zone APC Elders, accused Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of allegedly backing moves to impose a senatorial candidate on the people of the zone.
Speaking in Yola, the group’s spokesman, Mohammed Song, endorsed Aliyu Abbati as the preferred Senate candidate for Adamawa Central, arguing that Yola North had never produced a senator since the creation of the state.
The group also alleged that tensions involving the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, could negatively affect the APC’s chances if not properly managed.
Reacting to complaints surrounding the party primaries, Governor Fintiri defended the process, insisting it was generally free and credible despite minor human errors.
