Access Holdings Plc has announced the appointment of Mr. Innocent Ike as its new Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (GMD/CEO), effective August 29, 2025, following the receipt of regulatory approval.
The development comes shortly after the resignation of Roosevelt Ogbonna from the company’s board in compliance with the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) new corporate governance guidelines.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the financial services giant confirmed that Ike’s appointment marks the beginning of a new leadership phase for Access Holdings, under the chairmanship of Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede. The veteran banker returned to the board in 2024 after the sudden passing of former Group CEO Herbert Wigwe, a move that stabilized the institution during a challenging transition period.
With decades of experience in banking and finance, Mr. Ike is expected to drive the group’s strategic vision, strengthen its regional and global presence, and consolidate its reputation as one of Africa’s leading financial institutions.
