Kresta Laurel Limited, Nigeria’s leading indigenous elevator and escalator company, has celebrated its 35th anniversary with accolades from President Bola Tinubu and industry leaders. The President, through his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, commended the company for its resilience, enterprise, and sound management practices that have sustained its growth for over three decades.
With headquarters in Lagos and branches in Abuja, Port Harcourt, Uyo, and Ibadan, Kresta Laurel has become a key player in vertical and horizontal transportation systems. Its reputation as a pioneer in elevators, escalators, cranes, and electromechanical solutions earned it the African Order of Merit in Cranes, Escalators, and Elevator Technology.
At the anniversary gala in Lagos, the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, emphasized that Kresta Laurel does more than move people and goods. According to him, the company drives economic growth, enables modern architecture, and strengthens Nigeria’s urban infrastructure.
Founder and Group Chairman, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, reflected on the company’s journey since 1990, highlighting its vision to prove that African engineers can deliver world-class systems. He urged Nigerians to continue believing in the country’s potential, noting that Kresta Laurel has become a symbol of professionalism and national pride.
Managing Director, Dideolu Falobi, outlined the company’s future roadmap. He stressed Kresta Laurel’s commitment to sustainability, renewable energy, and tropicalized solutions tailored for Nigeria. He also reaffirmed the importance of investing in young engineers to expand local expertise and reduce dependence on imports.
