Nigerian music sensation Asake has extended his record as the artist with the most No. 1 songs in Nigeria, after his latest single ‘Badman Gangsta’ featuring French rapper Tiakola topped the TurnTable Charts.
This marks Asake’s 14th No. 1 overall and his second chart-topper of 2025, following his appearance on Olamide’s hit track ‘99’ alongside Seyi Vibez and Young Jonn.
A Streak of Hits Since 2022
Asake first reached No. 1 with ‘Omo Ope’ in January 2022. Since then, he’s consistently dominated the charts, with 11 of his 14 No. 1s coming as a lead artist. His back-to-back successes have propelled him into international stardom, earning him two Grammy nominations.
New Album ‘Money’ Coming in 2025
Now under his label Giran Republic with global distribution via Gamma, Asake is set to release a new album titled ‘Money’ later in 2025. The title references his nickname “Mr Money”, tying back to his 2022 debut LP Mr. Money With The Vibe.
The upcoming release will be his fourth album in four years and follows the success of 2024’s Lungu Boy, which was Nigeria’s best-selling album last year.
Asake also made history as the best-selling Nigerian artist for three consecutive years, according to TurnTable Charts.
