Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, has praised the Super Falcons players from Imo for their outstanding performance in Nigeria’s historic 2025 WAFCON victory.
At a reception held at the Imo State Governor’s Lodge, Uzodimma celebrated the contributions of Chiamaka Nnadozie, Tochukwu Oluehi, Osinachi Ohale, Chinwe Ihezuo, Jennifer Echegini, and Anam Imo, calling them symbols of resilience, discipline, and national pride.
“Their unity and determination lifted the entire nation,” he said on X (formerly Twitter), commending the Falcons’ comeback win over hosts Morocco after trailing 2-0 at halftime.
Nigeria’s 3-2 victory secured the Super Falcons’ 10th WAFCON title, reaffirming their dominance in African women’s football.
“This win is more than just a game,” Uzodimma said. “It’s a testament to the spirit and potential of our people.”
