Remo Stars Football Club marked their maiden Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title in grand style. On Monday with a club gala that celebrated their 2024/25 season success. The event, filled with excitement and gratitude, saw club chairman Kunle Soname reward the champions with a whopping N25 million. While also presenting a brand new SUV to the club’s standout performer, Olamilekan Adedayo.
After narrowly missing out in previous seasons. Remo Stars finally clinched their first-ever NPFL crown with 71 points, finishing seven points ahead of Rivers United. Their consistency, resilience, and determination throughout the season paid off in spectacular fashion.
During the celebratory gala, Soname also extended his generosity to the club’s other teams. The Remo Stars Ladies, who reached the NWFL Super Six playoffs, received N10 million. While the club’s youth team, Beyond Limits, fresh from winning the prestigious Gothia Cup in Sweden, was awarded N5 million. The supporters club wasn’t left out either, receiving a N2 million appreciation gift for their unwavering support.
The highlight of the night was the presentation of a brand new SUV to Olamilekan Adedayo, who emerged as the club’s best player last season. Adedayo finished as top scorer with seven crucial goals and one assist. His standout performances included a thunderous match-winner against Niger Tornadoes, which sealed the league title, and a key goal in a dramatic 3-2 comeback against Abia Warriors.
With the NPFL title secured, Remo Stars now have their eyes set on the CAF Champions League. Aiming to reach the group stages for the first time after two previous failed attempts. The momentum is high, and the future looks bright for the Ikenne-based club.
