Nollywood actress Ariyo Oluwakemisola, popularly known as Kemity, has broken her silence regarding her personal life, revealing the emotional story behind having two children with different fathers. Speaking during a recent episode of Biola Bayo’s podcast shared on Instagram Kemity addressed public misconceptions and shared the painful reality behind her journey.
The actress disclosed that her first child came from a relationship with her first love the man who, in her words, “disvirgined” her. According to Kemity, she became pregnant shortly after their relationship began. Unfortunately, tragedy struck when he was murdered in a hotel after returning from Malaysia. “That was how I became a widow,” she emotionally stated in Yoruba.
Kemity stressed that she never planned to have children with different men. She explained that her own mother had all her children with one man, and she had hoped for the same. However, life’s unexpected turn altered her dreams. “People speak without understanding the full story,” she noted. “They judge without knowing the pain behind the journey.”
In addition to sharing her experience, Kemity called out the culture of shaming single mothers. She urged society to replace judgment with empathy and understanding. Offering prayers for women in similar situations, she said, “I pray for every single mother working hard to raise her children may God strengthen and bless you.”
She also had strong words for critics, saying, “If you insult us for having children with different fathers, may you face what we’ve faced. That was never our plan.”
