The National Examinations Council (NECO) has released the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) results. The announcement came on Wednesday, July 9, through a statement by Azeez Sani, NECO’s Acting Director of Public Affairs.
A total of 179,201 candidates sat for the exam, which covered 12 subjects.
Exam Timeline and Approval
The exam ran from May 12 to May 23, 2025. The results were approved after the BECE Award Committee Meeting at NECO headquarters in Minna.
Dr. (Mrs.) Folake David, who chairs the committee and is Director of Basic Education at the Federal Ministry of Education, said she was satisfied with the process.
The meeting also included school principals and NECO officials, who endorsed the result release.
BECE Re-sit Timetable Announced
NECO also approved the re-sit schedule for candidates who need to retake key subjects. The re-sit exams are set for:
- Wednesday, July 23 – Mathematics
- Thursday, July 24 – English Studies
