At least 16 youth football teams are gearing up for the Seyi Tinubu Citizens Cup, taking place April 12–19 in Ilorin, Kwara State.
Organizers say the tournament goes beyond football. “It’s a youth-driven movement for change,” said committee head Bello Olamilekan, who highlighted its role in youth empowerment and talent discovery.
Open to players aged 18–25, participating teams include Kwara Football Academy, Skills FC, Eagle Stars, Unity FA, NA Royals, Legal Stars, and more.
Bello praised Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his support of youth and sports development, and thanked Seyi Tinubu for creating a platform that connects dreams to real opportunities.
“This is more than just a game,” Bello said. “It’s about leadership, discipline, and the drive to succeed — on and off the pitch.”
