Former Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki has expressed sadness over the death of former Delta State Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan, describing him as a public servant who championed development and regional cooperation.
Obaseki, in a condolence message issued in Abuja on Tuesday, said Uduaghan’s death was a loss to his family, Delta State, the South-South region and Nigeria’s political community.
He noted that Uduaghan, a medical doctor by training, brought a strong sense of service to public office and contributed to the development of Delta State and the country.
According to Obaseki, the late governor pursued the vision of a “Delta Beyond Oil”, with a focus on improving the welfare of residents and encouraging cooperation among South-South states.
He added that Uduaghan’s contributions would remain part of Delta State’s history, stressing that leadership should be measured by its impact on people’s lives.
Obaseki extended his condolences to Uduaghan’s family, the Delta State Government and the people of the state, as well as colleagues who worked with the former governor during his years in public service.
He also prayed for God to grant the deceased eternal rest and give his loved ones the strength to cope with the loss.
