Nigerian football fans were among the biggest participants in SuperSport’s digital FIFA World Cup 2026 experience, accounting for 21.2 per cent of registered users on the broadcaster’s Predictor platform.
SuperSport said Nigerians ranked second behind South Africans, who accounted for 29.5 per cent of registered users.
The tournament, hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico from June 11 to July 19, ended with Spain defeating Argentina 1-0 in the final.
The SuperSport Predictor recorded 175,615 users, who made 3.81 million predictions during the competition. It also recorded 257,299 game sessions and 160,749 completed challenges.
Across its digital platforms, SuperSport produced 817 videos for YouTube and TikTok, generating 677 million views.
The broadcaster also recorded 54.4 million engagements and built a paid audience of 11.4 million.
Its wider #EverythingCanWait campaign generated 19.1 billion social media views, while the Pan-African creator programme added 18.1 million views.
SuperSport.com attracted 10.1 million visitors during the tournament and generated more than six million football video views.
The broadcaster also reported strong engagement with multilingual coverage, with Pidgin commentary generating significant organic discussion among Nigerian and African fans.
