The management of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) has suspended two senior officials and the Students’ Union Government President over allegations of collecting unauthorised payments from students.
According to the university, the officials allegedly collected N1,000 from each 100-level student for practical sessions without obtaining approval from the institution’s management. A preliminary investigation reportedly found that the funds were collected outside approved university channels, while the SUG president was also alleged to have been involved in handling part of the money.
