Actor and politician Emeka Ike says Nigerian politics is heavily dominated by wealthy individuals, making it difficult for ordinary citizens to compete.
He argued that financial barriers exclude professionals like journalists and bankers from meaningful participation. Ike also encouraged voter registration ahead of the 2027 elections, urging Nigerians to reject political apathy and actively engage in the electoral process.
He said his experience in politics, including legal and privacy-related disputes, has not discouraged his involvement but strengthened his resolve.
