The Minister of Defence, retired Gen. Christopher Musa, has reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the country despite ongoing security challenges.
Musa gave the assurance during the Southern Kaduna Festival (SKFEST) 2026 in Kafanchan, where he received the Southern Kaduna Grand Commander Award in recognition of his contributions to national security and peacebuilding.
According to the minister, security remains the foundation for national development, stressing that the Armed Forces and other security agencies are working tirelessly to protect the country.
He called on citizens to support security operations through vigilance and intelligence sharing, noting that lasting peace can only be achieved through collective effort and cooperation.
Musa also urged young Nigerians to embrace education, entrepreneurship, and productive ventures while rejecting criminality and violence. He assured families affected by insecurity that efforts were ongoing to secure the release of abducted victims and restore peace in troubled communities.
The festival featured cultural displays, exhibitions, and tourism showcases, attracting dignitaries, traditional rulers, and visitors from across Nigeria.
