The 2026 edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards celebrated outstanding achievements in African film and television, with My Father’s Shadow, Colours of Fire and Lisabi: A Legend Is Born emerging among the biggest winners.
Held at Eko Hotels and Suites in Lagos, the event brought together top actors, filmmakers and entertainers from across Africa.
My Father’s Shadow won the coveted Best Movie award, while director Akinola Davies Jr. secured the Best Director category.
Uzor Arukwe claimed Best Lead Actor for his role in Colours of Fire, while Linda Ejiofor won Best Lead Actress for The Serpent’s Gift.
Historical drama Lisabi: A Legend Is Born, produced by Lateef Adedimeji, won Best Indigenous Language Film in West Africa.
Veteran actors Sola Sobowale and Kanayo O. Kanayo received Industry Merit Awards for their long-standing contributions to African cinema.
The ceremony also recognised rising actress Uche Montana with the Trailblazer Award.
