Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Wizkid has become the first African artist to surpass 11 billion streams on Spotify across all credits.
The milestone was announced by music statistics platform ChartsAfrica, which described Wizkid as the first African artist to achieve several major streaming milestones on the platform.
The achievement comes shortly after the release of his collaboration with DJ Tunez titled State of Mind, which reportedly generated over 685,000 global Spotify streams within its first full day.
Fans and music lovers celebrated the record online, praising Wizkid’s contribution to the global growth of Afrobeats music.
Widely known as “Big Wiz,” the singer previously became the first African act to reach 10 billion Spotify streams earlier in 2026, further cementing his influence in international music.
