Nollywood actor and politician Yul Edochie has stated that former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi cannot become Nigeria’s president at this time.
In a post shared on X, Edochie dismissed Obi’s political strength and ongoing opposition coalition talks, particularly his reported involvement with the African Democratic Congress, describing it as “dead on arrival” and a “waste of time.”
He argued that Obi’s presence weakens any political platform he joins, adding that the challenge is “deeper than a physical problem.”
Obi, who was the Labour Party’s candidate in the 2023 elections, has recently been involved in coalition discussions ahead of 2027, positioning the ADC as a possible platform to challenge President Bola Tinubu. He has described the effort as a move to “rescue Nigeria” from economic and political challenges.
