Patients and medical staff across Nigeria have expressed relief after the Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors suspended its planned nationwide strike.
The association had threatened industrial action over unpaid salaries and allowances but called it off after interventions by Vice President Kashim Shettima and other government officials.
NARD has given the Federal Government a two-week ultimatum to resolve outstanding issues, warning that failure to act could trigger another strike.
Hospital services have largely continued nationwide, with patients welcoming the decision and urging both parties to find a lasting solution.
