The UK Home Office has announced increased fees for visas, residency, and citizenship applications, effective April 8, 2026, impacting Nigerians and other foreign applicants.
Under the new rates, a short-term visit visa will rise from £127 to £135, while student visas increase from £524 to £558. Permanent residency applications will now cost £3,226, up from £3,029, and citizenship applications rise to £1,709.
In a rare exception, the fee to register a child as a British citizen will drop from £1,214 to £1,000.
The changes affect most visa categories, as the Government of the United Kingdom moves to adjust immigration-related costs.
