Alex Iwobi’s father strongly rejects claims of a robbery at his London home. Chuka Iwobi confirmed his son had already traveled to Turkey before rumors circulated online. The Fulham midfielder joined the Super Eagles camp in preparation for upcoming friendlies. Reports claimed armed intruders stole £500,000 worth of jewellery, watches, and electronics.
Chuka Iwobi spoke directly with journalist Colin Udoh to clarify the false reports. He insisted no burglary occurred and Alex remained completely safe. “Alex left for Turkey this morning to join the team for international friendlies,” Chuka stated. Iwobi arrived early at the Super Eagles camp in Antalya alongside 14 teammates. Midfielders Fisayo Dele-Bashiru and Emmanuel Fernandez joined defenders Semi Ajayi and Bruno Onyemaechi.
Bright Osayi-Samuel and forwards Moses Simon, Paul Onuachu, Philip Otele, and Collins Yira Sor also reported. Chuka criticized how quickly false news spread online, frustrating fans and well-wishers. He revealed answering numerous calls to assure the public that Alex was unharmed. “It’s disappointing that someone spreads lies just to gain clicks,” he added.
Nigeria will face Iran on Friday and Jordan on March 31 in Antalya. Officials moved the games from Amman following security concerns. Iwobi remains a key player under coach Eric Chelle, leading Nigeria’s midfield. Fans can expect his skillful performances as the Super Eagles prepare for their matches.
