Joseph Aloba, father of late singer Mohbad, has insisted that his son will not be buried until a DNA test is conducted to confirm the paternity of the singer’s child.
A Lagos State Magistrate Court sitting in Ikorodu had earlier ordered a Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) test to determine whether Liam Aloba is the biological son of the deceased. The order was given by Adefisoye Sonuga following an application filed by the family.
Speaking in a video shared on TikTok, Aloba alleged that influential individuals were attempting to frustrate the process and questioned the credibility of some of the laboratories selected for the test.
He also revealed plans to seek the transfer of the case out of Lagos State, maintaining that the DNA test remains a key condition before proceeding with burial arrangements.
The family’s legal counsel, Oladayo Ogungbe, had earlier disclosed that the court directed the test to be conducted in three mutually agreed laboratories DNA Diagnostics Centre, AlphaBiolabs, and Advanced Histopathology Laboratory Limited to ensure transparency.
Mohbad died in September 2023 under controversial circumstances, with his death sparking widespread public attention and ongoing legal disputes over his estate and paternity claims surrounding his son, Liam.
