The National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS) has warned the public about fraudulent individuals impersonating its Director-General, Abubakar Sulaiman, through unauthorised phone numbers and digital platforms.
In a statement issued in Abuja, the institute disclosed that unknown persons had been contacting members of the public while falsely claiming to represent or act on behalf of the Director-General.
NILDS clarified that Sulaiman does not solicit funds, political support, or confidential information through unofficial channels such as phone calls, SMS, WhatsApp, or unverified social media accounts.
The institute urged the public to disregard any suspicious messages purportedly from the DG that originate from unrecognised platforms, stressing that such communications are not authorised.
It further advised citizens to report any impersonation attempts to appropriate authorities for investigation and legal action.
Reaffirming its commitment to transparency and integrity, NILDS assured the public that all legitimate correspondence from its leadership would be communicated exclusively through verified and official channels.
