Cornerstone Insurance Plc has launched a digital learning platform called Cornerstone Academy. The initiative strengthens its long-term human capital development strategy.
The company designed the academy as a hybrid learning ecosystem. It combines digital platforms with purpose-built physical training facilities. Currently, the digital learning environment is fully operational. However, the physical academy will launch soon to enhance in-person training.
The Human Capital team completed the Learning Management System in December 2025. The LMS now serves as the academy’s virtual classroom for employees. Additionally, the company developed a dedicated mobile application for seamless access. Employees can now learn anytime and anywhere.
Together, these platforms create a flexible and user-friendly learning environment. They support professional growth, leadership development, and technical competence. Moreover, they promote organisational excellence across all levels.
Speaking at the launch, Group Managing Director Stephen Alangbo highlighted the academy’s importance. He described it as a strategic investment in people and industry growth. According to him, the initiative will build a future-ready workforce.
He explained that the academy goes beyond routine staff training. Instead, it nurtures talent and strengthens leadership capacity. Furthermore, it embeds a culture of continuous learning within the organisation.
The company revealed that the academy’s framework follows two strategic phases. Each phase aligns with its broader growth ambitions.
Through Cornerstone Academy, the insurer aims to transform talent development. Ultimately, the initiative positions the company competitively within Nigeria’s financial services sector.
