GigaLayer has acquired Registeram to expand its digital infrastructure footprint. The acquisition strengthens its position in Nigeria’s cloud and domain services market. It also signals a broader strategy to consolidate reliable infrastructure across Africa.
Registeram has operated in Nigeria since 2008. Its customers will continue accessing existing services without disruption. However, GigaLayer will gradually integrate these services into its infrastructure platform. Consequently, clients will benefit from improved performance and enhanced security. The integration will also boost redundancy and technical support systems.
According to Founder and CEO Ahmad Mukoshy, the deal reinforces local infrastructure development. He explained that the company aims to strengthen Africa’s digital backbone. Therefore, the acquisition goes beyond customer expansion. It advances resilient, locally managed cloud services for African businesses.
GigaLayer currently operates from two data centres in Lagos. Meanwhile, it continues expanding bare-metal and cloud computing capabilities. These upgrades support enterprise workloads and compliance-driven operations. They also provide high-availability solutions for growing businesses.
Additionally, this move follows previous integrations, including Trudigits, Hub8, SMEinabox, and LagosHost. The company’s strategy prioritises cloud sovereignty and compliance-ready infrastructure. It also focuses on reliable domain and DNS services for long-term ecosystem stability.
Following the transaction, Registeram’s founders will pursue other ventures. Meanwhile, GigaLayer assumes full control of assets and customer portfolios. Ultimately, the expansion ensures Nigerian businesses access secure, high-performance infrastructure locally. This strategy reduces offshore dependency while strengthening Africa’s digital future.
