The Broadcast Media Owners and Practitioners Forum (ABMPF), JKD TV, NIGCOMSAT, and Hamada Radio FM have affirmed support for Arewa24 and the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC).
Ambassador Yaro Mamman, Chairman of JKD TV and Hamada Radio FM, clarified the matter. He said, “We have never been invited or consulted by the Northern Media Broadcast Owners Association regarding any industry actions.”
Mamman emphasized his organisations’ solidarity with Arewa24 and recognition of its contributions to Nigeria’s media ecosystem. He highlighted that NBC has certified Arewa24 as compliant with all laws and regulations.
He added that the NBMOA should disclose its membership and operate transparently instead of issuing anonymous statements.
Similarly, ABMPF Chairman Abdullahi Yelwa addressed concerns from members regarding the alleged claims. He affirmed that the forum had no involvement or briefing about any actions against Arewa24 or NBC.
Yelwa stressed that ABMPF supports lawful operations of any industry player and encourages adherence to regulatory guidelines.
ABMPF, a legally registered association, promotes professionalism and growth in northern Nigeria’s broadcast industry. The forum fully backs Arewa24 and NBC in fulfilling their roles.
“Our forum stands by Arewa24 and all legally operating broadcasters,” Yelwa stated. “We affirm NBC’s authority to regulate the industry according to Nigerian law.”
These statements reinforce the importance of compliance, transparency, and collaboration within Nigeria’s broadcasting sector.
