The Kogi State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Muhammed Gambo, has joined Nigerians nationwide to mark the Armed Forces Remembrance Day.
In a statement released on Thursday, Gambo praised the sacrifices of fallen heroes and heroines of the Nigerian Armed Forces, describing their service as vital to the nation’s unity and survival. He urged governments at all levels to provide stronger support for the families of deceased servicemen and women.
Gambo also called for national unity and restraint in political discourse. He appealed to Nigerians to reject divisive actions and rhetoric that fuel tension across the country.
He said Nigerians should embrace diversity as a source of strength, not a weakness to exploit for political, social or economic gain. According to him, reducing inflammatory language would help address the root causes of social unrest and separatist agitations.
The PDP chairman further urged citizens to remember the families of fallen soldiers and ensure they feel proud that their loved ones died in service to the nation.
