DEAP Capital Management & Trust Plc has taken a strategic step to strengthen its capital base. The company announced the execution of a new Memorandum of Understanding to support long-term growth. This agreement enables DEAP Capital to launch a minerals and metals financing initiative across Africa, reinforcing its sector-focused direction.
According to a filing on the Nigerian Exchange Limited, the MoU outlines a structured operational framework. It allows DEAP Capital to deliver financing, advisory, and capital structuring solutions. These services will support operators across the minerals and metals value chain.
Consequently, the initiative is designed to boost Africa’s participation in global supply chains. These supply chains are closely linked to digitisation, energy transition, industrial manufacturing, and advanced technologies. The approach positions the company within critical growth sectors shaping global demand.
The initiative follows a separate MoU with Banklink Africa Fund II, managed by Banklink Africa Private Equities Limited. This partnership establishes a strategic investment framework aimed at supporting capitalisation and long-term expansion. Together, both agreements form the foundation for DEAP Capital’s renewed growth strategy.
DEAP Capital expects the proposed investment structures to reposition the company effectively. The focus will remain on minerals and mining, metals trading, and project finance solutions. This repositioning reflects the company’s ambition to operate as a specialised non-bank financial institution.
Furthermore, the MoU is expected to attract fresh capital injection into the company. It will also enhance governance standards and institutional execution capacity. As a result, DEAP Capital plans to support mineral project financing across Nigeria and Africa.
Company leadership described the agreement as a defining milestone for future operations. Banklink Africa’s chairman also noted improved access to global capital for African businesses. Overall, the initiative aims to increase shareholder value and promote sustainable mineral projects across the continent.
