The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the start of sales for application documents for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) admissions for the 2026/2027 academic session.
In a statement signed by the Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, and shared on JAMB’s official X handle on Tuesday, the board invited qualified candidates to apply for admission into Nigerian tertiary institutions.
JAMB stated that applicants must be at least 16 years old by September 30, 2026, to be eligible. However, underage candidates may apply under strict conditions. Such candidates must score not less than 80 per cent in UTME or A-Level, PUTME, SSCE and the exceptional candidate assessment. Their UTME results will only be released after a full evaluation.
Registration for UTME candidates, including those from foreign countries, will run from January 26 to February 28, 2026. E-PIN sales will begin on January 19 and end on February 26, 2026.
For Direct Entry, the sale of application documents and E-PINs will take place from March 2 to April 25, 2026, and will be available only at JAMB’s state and zonal offices.
JAMB announced three categories of E-PINs: Direct Entry (₦5,700), UTME without Mock (₦7,200) and UTME with Mock (₦8,700). The fees cover application charges, reading text, CBT registration, examination services, and bank charges.
The board also confirmed that the 2026 UTME will hold from April 16 to April 25, 2026, while the optional Mock UTME is scheduled for March 28, 2026.
