The Lagos State Government has supported an eight-day free healthcare outreach in Lagos.
The programme was flagged off by the Special Adviser on Health, Dr. Oluwakemi Ogunyemi.
The outreach marks the 86th birthday celebration of Chief Razak Okoya.
He is the Chairman of Eleganza Group of Companies.
Importantly, the initiative targets hundreds of Lagos residents every day.
It focuses on expanding access to quality healthcare services across communities.
Lagos State Health District III provides technical coordination and clinical oversight.
As a result, all interventions meet approved medical and safety standards.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ogunyemi praised the strategic value of health-focused philanthropy.
She explained that private support can align effectively with government healthcare programmes.
Moreover, she highlighted the importance of people-centred healthcare delivery in Lagos State.
She reaffirmed the government’s commitment to sustaining impactful public–private health partnerships.
Meanwhile, the Permanent Secretary of Health District III, Dr. Monsurat Adeleke, also commended the effort.
She described the outreach as a timely intervention supporting government healthcare initiatives.
According to her, the programme demonstrates how private investments can strengthen public health systems.
Furthermore, the outreach offers structured and comprehensive medical screening services.
These include blood pressure checks, blood sugar tests, and Hepatitis B screening.
Beneficiaries also receive urinalysis, doctor consultations, and appropriate medical referrals.
Additionally, the programme provides HIV testing through the Lagos State AIDS Control Agency.
Residents also access dental care, eye screening, and free corrective eyeglasses.
Breast and cervical cancer screening services are equally available.
Notably, beneficiaries receive health education and referrals to government facilities.
Chief Okoya also extended ₦10,000 cash support to participants.
Overall, the free healthcare outreach strengthens community health while promoting preventive care across Lagos State.
