The Edo State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a man in connection with the alleged murder of his childhood friend in Oben Community, Edo State.
Police spokesperson, Eno Ikoedem, confirmed that the suspect, identified as Amadin Williams, was arrested following reports of the killing of Eghosa Osas. She said the suspect would be charged to court once investigations are concluded.
According to police findings, the incident was reported by the elder brother of the deceased. The victim, who had recently returned from abroad with his family for the Christmas holidays, was attacked while attending a housewarming event in the community.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the victim was attacked with a machete while outside the venue, sustaining fatal injuries. The suspect reportedly fled the scene but was later apprehended in Benin City.
The police said investigations are ongoing to determine the motive behind the attack.
