According to Kola Daniel, Media Assistant to the NSC Director General, no local or international body has ever been officially recognised to represent Nigeria in flag football. His statement addresses recent claims from different groups seeking legitimacy. The clarification also reinforces the commission’s mandate over sports governance.
Under Nigerian law, the NSC has the statutory power to approve and regulate all sports federations. That authority includes emerging sports such as flag football. The commission emphasised that no association has previously held any legal mandate to act on Nigeria’s behalf.
