LG Electronics has partnered with AXA Mansard Health to offer free malaria insurance to Nigerians. The initiative targets LG customers and supports families across the country. It forms part of LG’s Life’s Good Care Campaign, which promotes healthier communities.
Malaria remains a major public health challenge in Nigeria. The World Health Organisation reported nearly 250 million malaria cases globally in 2023. Nigeria accounted for 26 percent of all cases, the highest worldwide. African nations also contributed nearly half of global malaria figures. These numbers highlight the urgent need for improved access to medical solutions.
The free malaria insurance aims to reduce treatment costs and give households better healthcare access. LG Electronics West Africa Managing Director, Mr. Hyoung Sub Ji, said the partnership extends the company’s commitment to improving lives. He explained that the initiative goes beyond technology and supports people where they need help most.
AXA Mansard Chief Distribution Officer, Mrs. Jumoke Odunlami, emphasized the importance of affordable healthcare. She noted that malaria is one of the most preventable diseases in Nigeria. She stated that expanding coverage will help families manage the economic burden of treatment.
Through this partnership, LG customers will access AXA Mansard Health’s Standard, Classic and Premium malaria plans. These plans offer telemedicine services with remote doctor consultations for convenience. Customers can also receive prescribed medication from accredited pharmacies with free delivery within Lagos.
The Premium Plan provides added coverage and access to more than 1,000 hospitals nationwide. This ensures customers receive treatment whenever and wherever they need it.
The partnership reinforces LG’s continued commitment to corporate responsibility and supporting communities directly.
