President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday arrived at the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport, Owerri, Imo State, for a one-day working visit. The presidential aircraft landed at 12:52 p.m. He was received by Governor Hope Uzodimma and other officials.
Projects Commissioned in Imo State
During the visit, Tinubu commissioned several projects completed by Governor Uzodimma. These include the reconstructed 60km dual carriage Owerri–Mbaise–Umuahia Federal Road. He also opened the Assumpta Flyover and the 6,000-capacity Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu International Conference Centre.
In addition, the President inaugurated the renovated Imo Concorde Hilton Hotel. He also launched the state-of-the-art Imo Digital Learning Centre. Together, these projects highlight a drive for modernization and sustainable growth in Imo State.
Book Launch by Governor Uzodimma
Furthermore, Tinubu attended the presentation of Governor Uzodimma’s book, “A Decade of Impactful Progressive Governance in Nigeria.” The book documents Nigeria’s democratic journey. It also showcases achievements of the All Progressives Congress (APC) over the past 10 years.
Federal–State Collaboration
Meanwhile, Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, explained the purpose of the trip. According to him, the visit reflects a joint effort by the Federal and State Governments to boost infrastructure. He stressed that the projects symbolize progress in renewal, modernization, and development.
