Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan was raised in Kogi State’s Ebira communities, where her late father a selfless doctor instilled in her values of empathy and sacrifice. A vivid memory of him returning home weak after donating blood ignited her lifelong passion for helping others.
Though she embraced local traditions like the “Eku” masquerades, her mixed heritage made her a target of teasing, fueling her commitment to inclusion and social justice.
Natasha began her education in Okene and graduated as Head Girl from Federal Government College, Idoani, in 1997. After her father’s death, she studied Law at the University of Abuja, married at 19, and had her first child while completing her degree. She was called to the Bar in 2005, started her legal career at Brass LNG, and later earned a certification in Gas Business Management in Boston.
She pursued further studies in Scotland, gaining expertise in petroleum law and negotiation. In 2012, she earned an MBA from the University of Dundee, focusing on energy and business skills she would use to champion Nigeria’s industrial revival, especially the Ajaokuta Steel Complex.
In 2015, she pivoted to social entrepreneurship, completing the INSEAD program and founding BHiiP, a tech hub in Uyo launched with NDDC and SMEDAN to support startups.
From her roots in Kogi to global platforms, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan embodies visionary leadership driving change, empowering communities, and building a brighter future for Nigeria.
