Kaduna’s Irigwe community in Kauru Local Government Area has publicly thanked Governor Uba Sani for settling the medical bills of victims of the September 15 bandit attack in Angwan Rimi.
In an open letter signed by community leader Barnabas Musa and parents’ representative Comrade Raphael Joshua, residents said the governor’s intervention saved the lives of injured children whose treatment had been suspended at Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital due to unpaid bills.
They commended Sani’s “swift and compassionate response,” confirming through LGA Chairman Bashir Tanko Dawaki that full payment was made on September 21. The community also praised Commissioner for Health Hajiya Umma Ahmad and Dawaki for their professionalism and empathy.
The governor’s action followed an urgent appeal from the community after the attack, which left two people dead and several children critically injured. With the bills now cleared, treatment has resumed, restoring residents’ confidence in what they described as Sani’s “people-oriented leadership.”
The letter ended with prayers for the governor’s continued success in building a safer and inclusive Kaduna State.
