A civic group, Concerned Nigerians, has alleged a plot to block crude oil supply to local refineries, including the Dangote Refinery. They claim this move could trigger fuel scarcity, forcing Nigeria back into petrol importation and subsidy dependence.
The group accuses a cabal within NNPCL of working with petrol importers to undermine local refining efforts. According to Obinna Francis, National Coordinator, the plan aims to reverse economic reforms and create artificial shortages.
Francis also alleged that NNPCL officials are pressuring the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) to sabotage crude oil distribution.
He warned that the goal is to fuel public outrage through price hikes and shortages.
Concerned Nigerians have called on President Bola Tinubu and the DSS to intervene, urging the government to protect local refineries and prevent a crisis.
They warn that failure to act could lead to economic instability and rising fuel prices.
