BCG Ladies Tournament. Maryann Philip-Shaibu, wife of the immediate past Deputy Governor of Edo State, has clinched her second consecutive title at the prestigious Benin Club Golf Ladies Tournament. Earning her the crown of “Queen of the Green” for the 2024/2025 season.
Mrs. Philip-Shaibu etched her name in the club’s history book. By becoming the first woman ever to win back-to-back championships in the Ladies Overall Match Play category for two consecutive seasons 2023/2024 and 2024/2025.

The Benin Club Golf Section witnessed an electrifying final as Maryann displayed unmatched skill, focus, and resilience on the course. Her triumph not only cements her legacy in the club but also serves as a major milestone for women in Nigerian golf.
Her husband, Philip Shaibu, a golfer himself and former Edo State Deputy Governor, expressed admiration and pride following her historic win.

Philip Shaibu also extended his congratulations to Mrs. Dorothy Chukwu, the tournament’s runner-up, for her outstanding performance.
