Controversial Nigerian entertainer Speed Darlington has reacted after being declared wanted by the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) over alleged cyberbullying and cyberstalking.
In a video posted online, the US-based rapper dismissed the summons and demanded ₦2.5 million for his appearance. “All these wanted posters need to come down. I’m not coming. I’ve committed no crime. Irresponsible talk is not a crime,” he said.
NAPTIP’s action follows a viral video where Speed Darlington claimed he had sexual relations with a 12-year-old girl and paid her. After public outrage, he later clarified that the statement was fabricated to promote his new song.
The agency invited him for questioning, but the singer has refused to honour the call, stating he won’t show up without payment and evidence against him.
The incident has sparked fresh debates online about the limits of freedom of speech, accountability on social media, and the role of agencies in handling such cases.
