The Nigerian Senate has approved the 2025 Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Statutory Appropriation Bill, setting the budget at ₦1.81 trillion. This funding will be sourced from projected revenue for the year.
According to the budget breakdown, ₦150.35 billion (8.29%) is allocated to personnel costs, ₦352.03 billion (19.41%) to overheads, and ₦1.31 trillion (72.31%) to capital projects highlighting a strong focus on infrastructure development.
The budget was finalized after input from both legislative chambers and consultations with FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and officials from the FCT Administration. Wike emphasized the urgent need to address rising security concerns and healthcare challenges in Abuja.
As part of the health sector plans, the FCT recently acquired advanced diagnostic equipment to improve public health services, reinforcing the government’s commitment to quality healthcare and better living standards for residents.
The 2025 FCT budget aims to enhance infrastructure, service delivery, and overall development in Abuja and its surrounding areas.
