The Nigerian Red Cross Society, in collaboration with Betway, the Lagos State Lottery and Gaming Authority, and the Ojuse Foundation, has launched a bold new campaign titled First Response for All, aimed at equipping Lagos residents with essential emergency response skills.
This community safety initiative focuses on empowering everyday Nigerians. Including market vendors, public transport workers, and youth athletes with training in first aid, trauma response, fire safety, and basic life support. With sessions conducted in both English and local languages, the programme ensures maximum accessibility across various communities in Lagos.
Led by the Nigerian Red Cross Society, the training draws on the organization’s globally respected expertise in emergency preparedness and humanitarian response. Their involvement guarantees the campaign’s quality and credibility, making it a trusted step toward a safer society.
According to Anu Anibaba-Amusan, Co-founder and Trustee of the Ojuse Foundation. The initiative is designed to close a major public safety gap. “Too many lives are lost not because help isn’t available. But because people don’t know how to respond in critical moments. This campaign puts life-saving knowledge directly into the hands of ordinary Nigerians,” she noted.
The campaign will be rolled out in high-traffic locations across Lagos. Providing practical, hands-on training that enables immediate impact. Supporters like Betway and the Lagos State Lottery and Gaming Authority described the programme as a rare chance to invest in something with clear, measurable benefits for society.
The campaign, with its focus on grassroots training, reflects a shift toward proactive community safety. By empowering residents with the confidence to act during emergencies. The initiative aims to turn ordinary bystanders into capable first responders where every second counts.
