President Bola Tinubu has expressed optimism that Nigerian professionals who have left the country will return as the economy improves through sustainable economic reforms and bottom-up policies.
Speaking at the inauguration of the Planning Committee for the National Youth Conference at the State House, President Tinubu highlighted his administration’s commitment to strengthening the economy for the prosperity of Nigerian youths, who represent more than 60 percent of the country’s population.
“I want to reassure you that you are the hope of this country, and everything hangs on you. Every decision that I have taken is about you. It’s about the future,” Tinubu said.
He emphasized that recent reforms, such as the removal of fuel subsidies, were necessary to secure a better future. According to the President, improving local economic conditions will encourage professionals to stay and contribute to national development.
“When you listen to most professionals leaving Nigeria, there’s a cause. If you grow prosperity back home and empower people, they will not bother leaving. They will stay home,” he added.
