The Bauchi State Police Command has announced plans to intensify security patrols during the upcoming Eid-el-Fitr celebrations. This initiative aims to ensure a peaceful and secure environment for residents throughout the festive period.
In a statement released on Saturday, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Ahmed Wakil, shared details on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Sani-Omolori Aliyu. He emphasized that all Area Commanders, Tactical Commanders, and Divisional Police Officers have been directed to strengthen patrols, particularly in high-risk areas known as black spots or flashpoints.
To deter any potential disruptions, Wakil warned individuals against engaging in unlawful activities. He urged those with ill intentions to either participate in the celebrations peacefully, seek rehabilitation through the Police, or face legal consequences.
The Police Command also encouraged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest Police Station. Complaints can be submitted through the Police Rescue Me App or via emergency contact numbers: 08151849417 and 09053872273.
The statement reaffirmed the Command’s dedication to maintaining law and order, ensuring a secure environment for Eid prayers and festivities. The Commissioner of Police extended warm greetings to the Muslim community on the occasion of 1446AH/2025 Eid-el-Fitr, marking the conclusion of Ramadan fasting.
To bolster security, the Police have deployed plainclothes officers for intelligence gathering. These personnel will report directly to the central control room, helping to preempt and address any security threats before and during the celebrations.
Residents are urged to cooperate with law enforcement agencies as Bauchi Police work to provide a safe and incident-free Eid-el-Fitr for all.
