The All Progressives Congress (APC) has begun internal consultations to appoint a new national chairman after the resignation of Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
Ganduje stepped down last week, citing urgent personal reasons, less than a year after taking over from Abdullahi Adamu in August 2023.
APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, confirmed during a Channels TV interview that the party is moving quickly to fill the leadership vacuum.
“We will take steps immediately to fill that vacancy,” Morka said.
Although no date has been fixed for a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, Morka stated that arrangements are underway and the meeting will be held “really soon.”
He added that the party is engaging stakeholders to reach a consensus before officially announcing a new chairman.
