President Bola Tinubu will celebrate his 73rd birthday on Saturday, March 29, with a special prayer session at the National Mosque in Abuja. The event, set for Friday, coincides with the holy month of Ramadan and comes just two months before his administration reaches its second anniversary.
In a statement released on Thursday, Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President (Information & Strategy), announced that the prayer session would be an opportunity for Tinubu to express gratitude for divine guidance throughout his leadership journey.
The statement emphasized Tinubu’s commitment to spiritual reflection and the collective well-being of the nation.
“President Tinubu’s choice of a prayer session highlights his dedication to Nigeria’s moral and spiritual well-being, as well as his commitment to seeking divine wisdom, strength, and insight in leadership,” it read.
The President also encouraged Nigerians to join the prayers in spirit, whether in their places of worship or elsewhere, as a symbol of unity and shared destiny.
Reflecting on his journey, Tinubu expressed deep appreciation to Allah and the Nigerian people for their unwavering support.
“I am profoundly grateful to Allah for the gift of life and the honor of serving this great nation,” he said. “As I mark another birthday and look forward to our second anniversary in office, my heart is filled with renewed hope for Nigeria. I urge all citizens to pray for divine guidance, unity, and healing for our land. Together, we will overcome challenges and build a nation where every citizen thrives.”
The statement further reaffirmed Tinubu’s commitment to strengthening democracy, revitalizing the economy, and promoting national unity.
“As his administration approaches its two-year milestone, the President remains steadfast in advancing economic reforms, enhancing national security, and expanding opportunities for all Nigerians,” it concluded.
The upcoming prayer session serves as a reminder of Tinubu’s belief in the power of divine intervention as a foundation for national progress and cohesion.
